Christopher Bell, the brother of the director of Bigger, Stronger, Faster [an objective steroid documentary] was found dead in a rehabilitation facility. In the film he was quite candid about his battle with alcohol and painkillers, not to mention continuous steroid use over the years. The director of the film issued a statement on his brother's behalf blaming the death of his older brother as attributable to a number of factors and did not blame steroids in and of itself, which, I think was the right thing to do. In the film you can clearly see that the rest of the family was concerned about Christopher and I think its unfortunate that all of their fears have now become realized. I am only really posting about this simply because the documentary was one of the best documentaries I have seen in a long time. Hell, even Jason enjoyed it so that is saying something because its a subject most people dont know a whole lot about. And dying in a rehabilitation facility after trying to get clean is probably the most unfortunate aspect of it all. I think alot of people who aspire for size need to get a physical at least once a year considering the bigger you get, the greater the stress on your heart and alot of the biggest guys do cardio sparingly. I was talking to Steve about it this evening, about how ever vice can shave a few years off your life. Drinking is one. Smoking is another. And, no matter what you do there is an inevitable trade off in life which I think most people tend to push to the back of their minds unless suddenly broadsided by some unfortunate event. I am positive that I have shaved off a couple in my time with all of the hard partying I have done so far into my young life.
